Contribution to the Preparation of the PFBF 2026
March 11, 2026
NCT&I is delighted to have contributed to the preparation of the French Pacific Business Forum 2026 alongside the French New Zealand Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNZCCI).
Ahead of the Forum, our role was to act as the first point of contact for Caledonian businesses and start-ups, facilitating their connection with the New Zealand ecosystem.
This collaboration fully illustrates NCT&I's mission: connecting Caledonian businesses to regional markets and creating concrete business bridges in the Pacific.
We wish everyone an excellent Forum and salute the work of all those mobilized for the complete success of this event!

Economic and institutional mission in French Polynesia: Caledonian dynamics in action!
This week, NCT&I is in French Polynesia to strengthen cooperation bridges between Pacific economic players.
Several strategic meetings have already punctuated this mission, notably with the CCISM of Polynesia, the MEDEF French Polynesia, ADE – the Economic Development Agency of French Polynesia – with the delegation of Caledonian entrepreneurs, and the Government of New Caledonia.
An institutional exchange also took place with Mr. Jordy CHAN, Minister for Major Works, around development opportunities in the region.
Now on to the Housing Fair, which opens its doors for four days of commercial exchanges and visibility. On this occasion, 7 Caledonian businesses, NCT&I members, will represent the territory by presenting their products and expertise on the Polynesian market.

Welcome of François Bockel
February 23, 2026
We had the pleasure of welcoming François BOCKEL, Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs at the French Embassy in New Zealand, at our Board of Directors meeting.
This meeting continued during a Business Dinner bringing together several of our members, providing a privileged setting for dialogue, the sharing of expertise and the exploration of new development opportunities in the New Zealand market.
Many thanks to François BOCKEL for his availability, attentiveness, and the quality of the discussions. These moments of convergence strengthen the collective dynamic in the service of Caledonian businesses' outreach.
3 Things to Know Before Exporting to New Zealand
February 17, 2026
Are you considering developing your business in New Zealand? Here are the 3 essential things to know before entering this strategic Pacific market.
Strict regulations: New Zealand applies strict standards, particularly for food, agricultural, biological or manufactured products. Health checks or permits may be required.
Complete customs formalities: The market is open under strict conditions: customs procedures must be fully complied with and goods correctly documented (customs classification, invoice, certificate of origin if required). In addition, phytosanitary rules and construction standards impose additional restrictions.
Key imports: New Zealand mainly imports vehicles (13%), nuclear reactors, boilers, machines and mechanical apparatus (13%), fuels (10%), electrical machinery and equipment (5%), plastics (4%) and aircraft and spacecraft (4%).
Exporting to New Zealand represents a real opportunity for Caledonian businesses, provided that regulatory requirements are anticipated, customs formalities are mastered, and the country's import structure is well understood. It is also worth noting that New Zealand's trade balance has been in deficit for several years.
Rigorous preparation and thorough market knowledge are the keys to securing and achieving success in this market.
